Sydney Singing and Piano Teacher
My teaching experience
As a Sydney singing and piano teacher I provide vocal, piano and music theory tuition to all ages at Penrith Conservatorium (the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre), students’ homes around the Western Sydney area, my home, and online (Skype or Zoom). I have been practising as a Sydney singing and piano teacher since 2016 at such schools as Penrith Conservatorium, Griffiths Music School, Cadence Music School and my own business. I have prepared multiple students for their AMEB grades and HSC Music in this time. In 2022 I was featured as a Western Sydney singing and piano teacher in the “Western Sydney’s young gamechangers taking on the world” article by Penrith Press (The Daily Telegraph).
Sydney singing lessons - beginner to advanced
With regard to singing I’m a classically trained vocalist, having a great interest in vocal pedagogy and maintaining optimal vocal health across different styles such as pop, jazz, classical and musical theatre. I am passionate about nurturing the voice to be produced as comfortably and effortlessly as possible, releasing vocal tension through the development of a healthy vocal technique.
Sydney piano lessons - beginner to intermediate
I am also trained in classical piano, having gone through my AMEB grades and intently studying music theory and ear training at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Similarly to singing, I teach beginner to intermediate-level piano across a range of musical styles and method books (John Thompson, Alfred’s Basic Piano, P Plate Piano, AMEB Classical Piano, AMEB Piano For Leisure, etc) according to the student’s learning preferences. I make sure to regularly integrate music theory knowledge into my teaching and I also give theory lessons separately if a student would first like to know the fundamentals before playing.
“Two voice students of Yasmin Arkinstall have each received outstanding exam results. Anjali Premarathne was awarded a Distinction (96) for her Rockschool Grade 2 Vocal exam performance. Leah Vernon received the 2024 Ars Musica Scholarship, and was awarded a Distinction (90) for her Rockschool Grade 4 Vocal exam.” ~ Penrith Conservatorium, Outstanding Achievements by Penrith Con Students
“On this night young Charlie is played by Jackson and young Lola by Krithish. Both young actors are excellent, with Krithish’s openness and vulnerability as an actor shining through in the rollercoaster highs and lows of discovering the joy of heels and identity, followed by emotional scenes realising the of disapproval from his father.” ~ Michelle Sutton in Theatre Travel’s Review: Kinky Boots at Riverside Theatres
